I am drawer and painter primarily working in narrative realism, with my art being my way of processing my experience as a human being in the world. I am moved by the beauty of the ordinary and by the everyday scenes of life that unify all people.

I’ve recently become enthralled with the concept of Time. Humanity is but a blip in the ongoing space-time continuum, with each one of us a mere blip on the blip. Connected, overlapping, back and forth, rinse and repeat. The same old story. Birth. Life. Mamas. Papas. Play. Fight. Love. War. Love. Death. It is the commonplace moments through that fabric of existence that connect us to all of humanity - past, present and future.

I am interested in depicting these ideas through the use of visual cues. The painted scene being of one time and yet another. Where are any of us really? The fluidness of existence. Remembering that the things that connect us are far more important than the things that separate us. Though we are but a blip in Time, we must see and feel our collective humanity and use our Blip well.

Working out of my home studio in Minnesota, I use oils, acrylics,  gouache, drawing media and collage, sometimes combining all of them as a piece evolves. It is my hope that the art I make connects with others as we make our way together on this little blue ball spinning in space.
